It’s official: Thierry Henry is a New York Red Bull!»

Red Bull New York announced today that it has signed star French forward Thierry Henry to a multi-year contract as its second designated player. The 32-year old is expected to debut on July 22 against Tottenham Hotspur, in the Barclays New York Challenge at Red Bull Arena. Not surprisingly, the press release announcing his arrival makes no mention of the infamous handball game or the recently-concluded World Cup.

Red Bull New York statement re: PATH station (updated)»

“Due to the presence of a suspicious package under the Harrison PATH station the PATH train service was suspended in both directions. Vehicular and pedestrian traffic were also restricted from accessing Frank E. Rodgers Boulevard. Approximately 7000 fans were delayed about one hour from entering Red Bull Arena.”
