Red Bulls Rue Missed Chances, Tie Houston 2-2

By dkarell • Aug 1st, 2010 • Category: Match Reports

Despite holding the lead twice, and being up a man for the final 47 minutes of the game, the New York Red Bulls only managed a meager point away to Houston. The Dynamo substitute Brian Mullen scored off a header in the 89th minute, putting Houston level with New York at 2-2. Thierry Henry’s MLS [...]

By Nathaniel E. Baker • Jul 17th, 2010 • Category: Match Reports

The New York Red Bulls played another listless performance Saturday night and this time were punished by an efficient Columbus Crew squad. ASN photographer Scott Marsh was at the New York Red Bulls 3-1 win over Juventus Turin May 23 at Red Bull Arena. A few of our favorite shots follow, without the customary snarky commentary because, well, the guy who writes them doesn’t care about these friendlies. Garcia stakes his claim as starter as RBNY trounce Juve

By ASN Staff • May 23rd, 2010 • Category: Match Reports

Three second half goals paced the New York Red Bulls to a 3-1 victory over Juventus FC at Red Bull Arena. Jeremy Hall, Conor Chinn and Juan Pablo Angel all found the back of the net, but it was Irving Garcia who impressed most. The 22-year old rookie was everywhere, outdribbling the supposed world-class Juventus defenders and creating chances. If Hans Backe doesn’t start Garcia in Dane Richards’ place now he either didn’t watch the match or is being blackmailed. Come to think of it, maybe Richards does have something on the Swedish coach?
