Galaxy’s Landon Donovan floated into the penalty and appeared to miss all its targets, before bouncing off the Giants Stadium turf and into the Red Bulls net, tying the game at two goals each. The L.A. Galaxy were still celebrating their equalizer when Juan Pablo Angel got behind the Galaxy defense, where he was located by a pinpoint pass into space from Dane Richards. Angel did the rest and the goal held up as the game winner. “New York was the best team on the night,” said Angel. “We had the better of the opportunities and took advantage of our scoring chances.”

The “Beckham game” will once again take place on a mid-summer Saturday night.
